The Moto Guzzi factory/ Museum is just outside Lecco. It was closed for the week when I was there so can't tell you if it's any good.
Milan is only a short distance away and so are the alps |
You can have really nice day rides from Como.
For example NW in Switzerland close to Andermat, nice pass roads. NE, a bit further from Bormio you can find passo Stelvio. Just check from googlemaps and you can find real paradise. Highly recommend also Dolomites, east from Bolzano (but this is a bit further away). Actually, 2nd weekend in July, there is Stella Alpina meeting close by http://www.stella-alpina.fsnet.co.uk |
I was at Como in the fall; I think in high season it must be crazy, but it looks like you'll be there in April, which I guess is before high season.
My impressions based on a short visit: --The roads to/from Bellagio to both the SE and SW are very nice, but as usual watch out for cars coming around blind corners. --Bellagio is nice enough, but I wouldn't plan on staying there very long, there is not that much to do, especially during off-season I would guess. --Mennaggio didn't impress me very much, Varenna seems nice. The whole northern part of the lake didn't impress me much. --Lots of fantastic day trips from Como--various lakes (Maggiore, Orta, and Isole), Bergamo, Verona, etc. Lots of lodging options, it seems like most of them close for the winter but I guess they should have reopened by April, although if there is a particular place you'd like to stay you should probably call ahead. |
Thank you all for your information...:thumbup1:.!
I look in the google map and i will stay in a camping between lake Como and lake Lugano...!!:biggrin3: (map here) http://maps.google.com/maps?t=h&hl=el&ie=UTF8&ll=45.959093,9.073994&spn=0 .004594,0.013711&z=16 Motoreiter sorry for my mistake:oops2: the trip is in the 4th july 2011 (and not in 4/7/2011 I correct it).But thank for your infos!!!:thumbup1: Keep up telling me some ideas for the area around lake Como and Lugano...!!! |
Como
You could try Hotel Odysee, a biker friendly hotel, dine out in the garden overlooking Lake Como.
