I have a plan though. I'll just tell her that I'm going down to the corner to get some milk, then disappear for about six months. I don't think she'll notice. I'll just need to make sure that I bring the milk when I get back.

I must admit to being baffled by what you say.

If you have a Visa valid for use within a defined period you can use it whenever it suits you within that period. Although I have never waited long to get back ( :drool:) I know those who have.

I suggest you check again with the Consulate and Agency that there is clear understanding, unaffected by language differences, as to what is being asked/answered.
