The Wakhan Corridor may be a possible route, though risky.

Most people heading for India go via Iran not the Stans - the problem of course is getting through Afghanistan, many parts of which remain very dangerous.

I dont know, if offrad-driving skills is you mayor issue.

Safety you have to consider too as female person and solo traveller in India - if you watch the news sites..

Are you aware of the youtube site "Itchyboots"? Noralay came back from India to Holland across s the stans and may have some of the information you need. Certainly her videos in series 1 hold a lot of useful information. Don't be put off by the "dangerous for a girl" nonsense that seems to come from armchair travellers. Also check out "onherbike" YouTube site run by Kinga, a Polish girl who travelled back to Europe from Australia.
I'm also contemplating a trip back from Asia to the U. K. although I believe Iran is a problem with a UK passport...
Hope this helps, Jerry.

Yes that is true and of course I am aware of the difficulties riding in India, not just for females but the high incidence of accidents. Thank you for responding

Hi yes have just started following Itchy Boots, who is in Bolivia at the moment. Will trawl back through her vids and take a look at how she crossed the Stans into India. Thank you

Hi POGS.. yes i am also on this route planning at the moment London- Asia..
EU- Turkey, Iran-AFG-PAK-India- then onwards to SEA..

So far i have been in contact with the embassy of each country and as of now there seems to be no issue with visa situations.. Iran, India etc.. Turkey is now free for UK
Afghanistan - it seems to be okay with the visa, just need the interview at the embassy, however as mentioned by some people the issue of safety comes up.. which will be monitored ;)

Actually after a bit more googling I'd say probably not.... the only route recognised seems to take you right past Kabul, so probably not recommended for now. Afghanistan remains a "no transit" area then.
