Italy to Uk in Jan.
 

I plan to finish my Africa tour next year by sail to Sicily and then drive from Italy up to the UK. Since I will be doing this in Jan. I'm litle bit worried about icy roads.

How are the conditions in north Italy in Jan.? Will I have to cross the Alps? How about southern and western France? I guess that southern UK are more or less ice free, but cold and rainy.

If some local people can help me with this I would be greatful.
