Ideas for one week rental ride in SA, Feb 2011?
 

The plan is to fly meself and my lady to South America in early February, to rent a bike and ride two-up for one week, seeing as much beautiful terrain and as much local culture as possible, ideally with moderate to warm weather.

Problem is, I'm overwhelmed trying to even pick which city and country to choose for the start of the ride. I've searched and read some ride reports, but could still use any tips anyone might offer given the restraints above.

I work for an airline, so we can probably get to any medium-sized city on the continent without too much trouble.

ANY advice or pointers (or references to other threads) to help me plan a great trip would be really appreciated!
