How to do Iran AND Africa?
 

Been scratching my head over this for a while...

Here's what I think would work, if I could get answers to a few key questions...

I know there's a ferry from Turkey to Egypt, so enter Africa from Egypt. Travel south to Cape Town and then loop through Namibia and back to the east coast somewhere, maybe Port Sudan, and get a boat from there to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (Q1. Is there such a boat?)

Then I need a Saudi visa - I believe a 3 day transit is possible but would like to stay longer, perhaps requiring a local sponsor? (Q2. How to get a Saudi visa?)

Then across Saudi to a port on the Persian Gulf, might have to be the Emirates or Dubai, and get a boat to Iran (Q3. Which boat?).

I hope it's possible to bring the bike into Iran via the port with no more trouble than by road (Q4. Is it?)

Once in Iran I'd continue east via Pakistan and India.

I'm sure there will be lots more questions but they are the main ones for the moment. Anyone have answers or know where I can find them?
