80 days is not very long, i would fly down to chile buy a bike tour around then sell it off before leaving. there are also quite a few threads about the best country to buy a bike so do some research into that. ( i believe if you buy a bike in argentina you cannot leave the country with it)

if you have a look in the ride tales section there are a lot of stories on peoples trip across south america. just see what you like and start making marks on a map, the then join the marks via the squiggliest roads possible :thumbup1:

and enjoy yourself bier

South America trip

I agree strongly with the advice from OZRANGER, fly to Chile and buy a bike there. Do not miss the Carretera Austral in southern Chile, very beautiful, and take your time. Rushing down from Vancouver in 80 days would leave you almost no time to enjoy the wonderful sights of South America. Personally, and speaking from experience, with 80 days I would take my time and cover some of the continent in depth, doing Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru. Maybe with a quick trip out to Rio in Brazil if time allowed. Hope this helps and have a safe trip.:thumbup1:

Thank you guy

I also think 80 days are too short to travel such a huge place. then why you recommand me to go to Chile not to Peru ?.

from my understanding chile is the easiest country to by a bike and take it across borders. i'm no expert but this thread has some info
