Heidelberg to Moscow
 

I am traveling from Heidelberg to Moscow the week in May 2015. I was going to go thru Poland and then Belarus. I have been advised the truck traffic can be dangerous in Russia. I would like some input on what to expect and how long i will take to get to the Russian border. My visa starts 14 May. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Truck traffic can in Russia is not more dangerous than in Europe or USA, all drivers are professionals more or less. You as motorcycle driver shall consider traffic intencity, road condition, weather and personal feelings, and everything will be fine.
Last year trip in Russia: from Murmansk to Tyumen and back- I think the truck drivers in Russia are more cautious then in northern states of US.

How long it take to Russian border, depends: can be even month or more if you stay in right place in Belarussia :welcome:beerjeiger
