heathrow parking

Hi , I am not sure where to put this but does anyone know of any secure bike parking suitable for airport parking. I know you can park for free at the terminal but I am not sure about security of the bike or the kit in the panniers.
Many thanks in advance

Hi. I've parked several times at Heathrow for 2/3 days at a time in the bays near T1/2 and T5 and never had a problem. I try and leave my bike next to a huge Harley or Goldwing (there are loads of them) so that anyone with bad intentions doesn't get tempted by me.

There is nothing secure about Heathrow bike parking. They are areas open to anyone and no 'ticket' is needed to exit with the bike.
In some areas it is possible to loop a chain around something fixed.

If Baffled wants secure parking in a guarded compound I think he should look at private parking companies outside the airport.

The free bike parks within the central area have signs saying something about a maximum period of 3 or 4 weeks.

thanks for taking the time to reply. Tony I would prefer to use secure offsite but no one seems to like bikes. If you have ever used any one I`d love the name. thanks again.

Sorry no real suggestion from experience.
I have left bikes in the central Heathrow free bike parks for the odd long weekend without problem - otherwise I keep it at my UK home (only a 20 minute bus ride away!).

Google "Heathrow parking" and contact the off-airport parking firms such as Purple what they charge for bikes, if they take them.
They are secure in that you need your ticket to take the bike out - I dont know if they are observed for vandalism and theft of parts.

This site - http://www.motorcycleparking.com/ is mainly concerned with street parking advice but does have a section on airports.
