Has anyone completed or know anyone who has completed UK - South Korea?

OK, so my girlfriend lives in South Korea and I am back in the UK for the time being. Instead of flying over to see her, I was considering doing a trip from the UK - South Korea, but I am not the best at organising things, so I am trying to get in contact with and research as much about the possibilities of this trip.

I realise I won't be able to go directly to South Korea, due to North Korea being in the way, so I will probably take a ferry from China to South Korea as that seems the most realistic.

I've seen a load of information about the UK > Mongolia, so I am thinking it's only a little further than that, but my thought process vs reality is probably completely off, and I might need a wake up call.

So if anyone has any information, warnings, reality checks, suggestions e.t.c please, please let me know!

And of course, thank you in advance!

There will certainly be others that knows this better than me but one possibility is to ride through Russia and then take a ferry from Vladivostok or Zarubino (I think it is...) to South Korea.

Uk to So Korea

I drove from barcelona to vladivostok last summer. You can also take the trans-sib train. From vladivostok there is a weekly ferry to Busan, Korea

I put close to 35,000km on the vehicle with all my side trips to the Altai, Lake Baikal and Mongolia. Travel was straightforward, but lots of bad road. The russians are very hospitable, but they drive like utter madmen and you need to drive very defensively and stay alert.

I rode Greece to South Korea April to June 2016, thru Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Other than securing a multi-entry business visa for Russia, it was all straightforward and great fun... with Mongolia being the best by far.

The ferry from Vladivostok runs every Wednesday to Donghae, South Korea. If you can swing it, definitely go!
