Gabon border closed 30 days
 

I'm currently in Yaounde and was informed this morning that visas would no longer be issued for Gabon for a period of 30days during which time the borders into Gabon would also be closed.

If anyone has any suggestions as to other viable routes south through the congo I would greatly appreciate them. My original plan was to travel through Gabon via franceville to Brazzaville however this no longer looks possible.

AFP: Gabon bids to choke fears of Bongo succession battle

According to news agencies the Borders seem to have reopened on Tuesday.
You should definetly recheck at the gabon embassy to get the visa.
I stick to the plan leaving Libreville on Sunday 14th June and go asap to Lekoni / Congo Border.
The funeral will be held in Franceville on Thurday next week.
Hope is to be through Franceville on Tuesday.
