from Switzerland to Odessa (Ukraine) sugestions
 

Hello there!

I have 9 days to ride from Switzerland to Odessa in Ukraine. I will go through Austria, Hungary, Romania and Moladavia.

Anyone has some suggestion of nice roads to take?

In Romania I already rode the transfagaraçan pass and the other one, transalpino I think.

I must say, I don't know Austria at all! Better to go north or south? Same for Hungary.

the southern route through moldova is quite pleasant except for the lousy roads.
there is an old soviet hotel in the middle of odessa... grubby but clean, cheap and internet cafe.
parking guards in front of hotel are not very efficient.

a friend who was with me had no insurance and got nailed for quite a bit of cash...not many petrol stations and most want cash even if they have credit card signs.

I will travel the same route. Leaving the 12. of august i allready booked the train from feldkirch to wienna. Slovakia, Tatra, Romania etc. it will be more interesting to spend more time in Odessa and Krimea then in Austria.

hoopoe: I will be back home on the first of August.... we won't meet! Anyway, I will have a full month in Odessa, so I will have some time driving around and exploring Crimea.

Johnfromireland: thanks for the advices, in Odessa I will have a flat because I am staying for 1 month!
