Fly NYC to Venezuala or Equador?
 

I will be in South America in June, and my girlfriend will be flying down with her bike to meet me there. Originally planned to meet in Quito, but now considering Caracus. Not many flights into/out of Caracus in the 'Shipments by Travellers' pages yet, so I wanted to ask the HU for input about flying into Venezuala. Anybody got any experiences (good or bad!) that they would care to share? The trip from there follows the west coast route down to TDF. Cheers.

Venezuela is NOT generally recommended unfortunately. Too many immigration and customs hassles and high charges.

Quito, BA, Rio, Santiago, all much better.
