Fantastic Hostel in Moscow - Motorcycle Friendly!!
 

Hello everyone,

John and I are on our last leg home from our England to Japan and back trip. We are currently waiting in Moscow for our motorbikes to arrive via train from Vladivostok before we ride home.
We will hopefully do a full write up and share video footage when we are back but I just wanted to share a place with you that we are staying at near Moscow.

It is called Junk Yard Hostel. They have free secure private parking for motorbikes on the premises! They have camera CCTV. There is also a motorbike custom garage next door which you may get a peak in if you're lucky. There is a motorcycle shop only a few miles away where we have bought new tyres, chain and sprockets, brake pads e.t.c. They will have most things to service your bike and also have a wide variety of motorcycle clothing.

The Hostel itself is about 12 miles away from the city centre. This was ideal for us as we wanted to explore the city on foot. We left our motorcycles securly parked at the hostel and the train takes only 35 minutes from Strogino train station to the centre. From here it was literally a 5 minuite walk to Red Square. We really love Moscow. The square is fabulous to walk around and it was amazing seeing sights such as St Basils Cathedral and The Kremlin. There are also some great restaurents to eat at, including a very good steak house, just along the street leading to Red Square.

Strogino itself is situated close to the Moscva River which is lovely to walk along, and there are supermarkets and restaurents located in the centre.

The Hostel has free wifi, a shared kitchen with kettle, microwave, toaster and oven, use of washing machine, dorms and also a private small double room if you do not wish to sleep in a shared room. The dorms have curtains for some privacy which is a nice touch.

Denis, the owner, is very friendly and speaks a bit of English which has made everything so much easier for us. We have spent many evenings chatting to him about bikes and playing chess which has been really fun.

For anyone planning on venturing in to Russia, perhaps as part of a world trip or a circular route around Scandinavia to the Caspian Sea and Europe, this is a super place to stay at.
