Estimated time - southern africa

Hi!
I am starting to plan a trip from maputo to the vic falls, okavango, namibia, cape town, garden route, swaziland and then, maputo again.
Does anyone know how much time i will need for that trip? I am prepared for some long driving days in order to have more time in special places and will probably be travelling in a petrol LR109 (80 km/h cruising speed).
If not for the entire trip, please advice on time needed for some legs, for example: okavango to cape town, etc.

Thanks!

Cheers,

R.

If you check the travelling guides closely there are so many 'must sees' in southern Africa... I'd suggest a min of 6 weeks for NAM, 2 months for South AFrica. Don't miss Lesotho, which means another week. Superb mountain landscapes.

Hi!

I am living/working in Mozambique since February, so I have been to the close by places. I have been to Lesotho, Swaziland, Kruger and of course I have travelled through Mozambique. My contract ends in the middle of November, and I would like to have the rest of the time until Christmas to explore the region. That time is about a month...

OK. In NAM if you're interested in landscape and bushman art, start at Twyfelfontein (rock engravings), Brandberg (rock paintings), Sossousvlei/ead Vlei (desert landscape in the Namib Desert), westrim of the Fish River canyon to Rosh Pinah (heavy sand passages, but glorious landscape), along the Orange River to Noordoewer to cross to South Africa.

Places of interest in the Cape are Cedarberg via Wuppertal on the 4x4 track, Cape Town of course, Route 62 from Robertson to Oudtshoorn, Swartberg Pass with maybe a detour to 'De Hel', Baviaans Kloof near Port Elizabeth.

All this is a bit tight for six weeks, but possible.

Enjoy!
