Don't worry about what ADAC told you. The 250cc max rules exists already for years and has never been enforced on foreign vehicles. There's a number of recent topics on the HUBB with more info on that.

I believe Silke from https://travelove.org/ recently left her motorbike in Iran for a while and then returned to continue her trip. I suggest you get in touch with her.

Thanks. I have just written them an email. Will get back when I hear from them.

Got this very informative email from Silke this morning:

"Good morning, Jakob!
Yes, I‘ve done it and I returned yesterday to my motorbike. I had to fly out for work reasons and leave the motorbike in a guesthouse in Isfahan.
When flying out, no one asked me about any vehicle, so I’m pretty sure they don’t have it related to you in their computer.
To come back, Germans are entitled to visa on arrival and I was told it’s better to apply for it online before. That’s what I did and it really speeds up the process when arriving at the airport. You don‘t need to have it, but I saw Italians waiting long at the visa office...
When entering Iran at an airport, you need to show that you have health insurance, covering you in Iran. Mine stated „worldwide“ and they didn’t accept it. I have read about this issue before, but my insurance was unable to provide a piece of paper with these 4 letters „Iran“ on it. If you don’t have it, you just get insurance at the airport for 15€/month.
Normally, you only get 30 days visa on arrival, but I asked nicely and got 60 days.
The whole process was very easy! Also when coming back no questions about my vehicle here.
So just fly to Denmark and come back, no problem!
Many greetings from rainy Isfahan,
Silke"
