Thanks for the gas tips everyone and once again my wife was right, must have been a different lutz, the one I met was last year on a Honda Africa Twin...
I am planning the trip in June. Vancouver Island, Oregon Coast, Klamath Falls, Reno, Yosemite NP, Death Valley NP, Las Vegas, Zion NP, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Moab, Yellowstone NP, Spokane and then back home to the island. Going solo but meeting my wife in the afternoons who is driving her mom on the same route. It's mom's bucket list, I'm just fortunate enough to be taging along for the ride!

Hello Mark, when are you going to return? Maybe we could have the change to meet on the way up north? My route is not that different:

Puebla, Guanajato, Guadalajara, Tequila, Mazatlan, La Paz, Loreto, Guerrero Negro, El Rosario, Ensenada, Tijuana
USA:
San Diego, Los Angeles, Furnace Creek (Death Valley), Badwater, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas, Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls, Yellowstone, Glacier National Park
Canada:
Edmonton, Jasper, Banff, Kamloops, Whistler, Vancouver

My itenary starts on or about the 6th of June and ends the the 25th of June.
Big circle tour. I think you'll be a bit behind me, I'm sure the scenery will still be the same!
