Can I put a bike on the Istanbul to Tehran Train
 

I'm looking to travel eastwards next year from Istanbul towards Iran and maybe beyond. I may want to miss out the trans-Turkey bit by putting my bike on a train - either to Van, or even as far as Tehran. Does anyone know whether this is possible? Either that, or does anyone feel like convincing me that trans-turkey is OK and interesting?

They are not taking motorcycles into trains since 2008 in Turkey which is a good thing that you can see one of the most beautiful countries in the world and experience nicest things especially the diversity of people and cultures.
