Border crossings and current Covid Situation in South America?

Hi all,
I'm considering a trip from Colombia to Argentina from Sep to Dec this year. Does anybody know how the current situation is regarding Border crossings and Covid in these countries?

Short answer - fluid.

Borders? You'll really need to check individual country information at the time. Even the official sites are not updated with good information.

It seems that the borders are mostly open, although with a variety of requirements for vaccination and testing. I wouldn't spend time looking for information today - it'll be out of date tomorrow.

You can find good information on case rates at worldometer - rates have been declining since January in most places. Colombia's case rate has dropped below that of Texas, and in Bogotá we're now at 92% vaccinated : )

Argentina spiked in the New Year but the rates have now dropped significantly.

How things will be in September is anyone's guess - could have dropped to a very low level, or if there's another highly contagious mutation they may go up again. The good news is that as we reach high vaccination levels case severity will improve, and restrictions will be less than in countries with lower vaccination levels.

yeah, thanks. Obviously, I'll need to check in detail later was just interested to get a feeling of the overall situation.
