Best methods for getting cash
 

I'm planning on crossing Russia west to east this summer and need to know the best way to get cash while in Russia. I have the VISA ATM and Credit cards. I assume I can use my cards in Russia or will I need traveller checks?

I just used ATM with my credit cards and when that didnt work i went into the bank. Even if you do not speak Russian, they are all nice and will show you where to go and what to do. Generally there is a counter for applying for the money, someone else to give you the reciept, and then someone else to give you the money.....
