Togher with 2 friend I am comming to Buenos in the 2nd half of 2011 for 3.5 weeks. Patagonia is where we would like to bike. We are looking for cheap, reliable, easy to repair locally motors -we are also rather short and light, as such no need for large bikes.

Q's:
1. what bikes and what is the best way to get them? buying and selling or renting? any recommendations appreciated
23. where should we start? As I understand it makes sense to go to the
southern border of Argentina by plane and spend the whole stay there.
Is that so? And if yes, what is the best place to start/end and get
bikes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any other
knowhow/hints would be really appreciated.

I live in Patagonia, and you need bikes with hi fuel range 'cause gas stations are far away from each other, plus very strong winds.
If you go all the way south, don't go by plane. At least use a bus, because there are very beautiful landscapes to be seen.
