Any information on Bhutan?

Has anyone got any info to share on touring Bhutan and eastern India e.g. Aranchal Pradesh, etc?
I understand Bhutan only allows 5000 package tourists in a year - any idea if it's possible to take a bike in?
Am new to this site but finding it absolutely bril in helping me plan my trip from UK - NZ. Thanks all. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Sorry, last I heard Bhutan was a no-go by bike. They ONLY want very limited numbers of big spending tourists. Smart imho. But unfortunate for us! (Botswana has the same philosophy but a little less restrictive.)

Eastern India is no problem, other than the traffic!

Thanks anyway. Last time I was travelling through the Himalayas I heard that Himalayan Roadrunners (motorcycle tours ex Kathmandu) were taking trips through to Bhutan & also into Tibet so thought they might be opening up to bikers. Might contact Roadrunners & see if there is any chance of tagging along...

I toured Bhutan October 2022

I went on tour for 23 days in Bhutan last October. The rules have changed somewhat in respect to individual tourists and visa fees. As far as motorcycle tours are concerned, I'm not sure what the new rules are. I fell under the old rules because I had been in contact with a tour company for a good part of the pandemic and was given permission because of that.
You can contact the motorcycle tour company for more information. Khandu is the road captain, is a local and will help you any way he can. I had the BEST time with Bhutan TUSK Motorcycle Tours. It may have been expensive, but it was one of the best things I have done in my life.
