Alaska to Southern California - Summer 2016
 

I will be starting my Pan-American adventure next year by riding my V-Strom from Alaska back to my house in Southern California. So I will ship the bike to Alaska, and I'm wondering where I should ship it to, what should be my starting point, and what time of year would be best. I don't know if I should start all the way up in Prudhoe Bay, or if it even possible to ship the motorcycle all the way there - or just super expensive. Maybe Fairbanks is the best place to start? If so, Is it worth driving the Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay and back so that my adventure starts at the northern most terminus of the Pan-American Highway? I know it's not an easy trip, to say the least, and I will only have 3-4 weeks for this leg of my adventure, so that needs to be taken into account as well.
