Afghan/ Pakistan/ Kashmir Borders
 

I am planning on cycling from Perth,Australia to Sheffield,UK in the next year. and fancied seeing Kashmir as part of the route.

Has anyone got any experience of the borders between the three regions? basically heading into Tajikistan.

Alternatively, I am assuming that it is easier to take a Pushbike into China than a Motorbike?

Kashmir - Pakistan = CLOSED (good place for getting shot)

Pakistan - Afghanistan = CLOSED to foreigners

China - Tajikistan = CLOSED to foreigners

The only route would be India - Pakistan (Amritsar - Lahore) - China (Karakoram Highway) - Kyrgyzstan

You could then go to Tajikistan.

Afghanistan is not a sensible destination currently to enter on a bicycle, with the exception of the Wakhan Corridor.

There are no restrictions on taking a bicycle into China (though they will not allow you to cycle between the Pakistani Border and Tashkurgan. Taking a motorcycle involves a guide.
