A Good Map Resource?
 

In hopes to take a trip to South America, I am looking for some good maps to get myself down there. Does anyone have any recommendations as to where to get good country maps?

amazon.com, travel stores, map stores, some bookstores, they aren't too hard to find.

ITMB is a popular brand. I like the Rough Guide maps a little better, I also like the Borch maps.

Search their site, They also offer suggestions for the best road maps for each country.

There is an excellent map of Mexico and parts of Belize and Guatemala sold in Lotte stores (like a 7-11) throughout Mexico although you may have to ask for the Mexican altas for version if you want the complete version. Local stores sell detailed local maps. Wouldn't worry too much for the rest of central america because any good guidebook has enough to get you to Panama.

In Colombia the sell a road guide in certain stores and at all toll plazas.
