I am planning a 20k mile journey for portions of 2020 and 2021 through Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. I would like to talk with anyone that knows or might know someone that has done these areas. I will be on an American title motorcycle with an American passport and need to know cool places to visit and how to get me and my bike permission to enter and exit each country. I also need to know where I can leave the bike for long periods of time along the way, 1st in East Europe than next in East Asia. The rough route is here:

You can't use either of the Ukraine - Russia crossings which you show on your route. The search function is your friend.

Your route appears fairly basic, yeah.

1) Flying into Frankfurt, I suggest you head to Stuttgart for the Mercedes & Porsche museums there, and spend some time riding the Black Forest on smaller roads.

2) You're missing the interesting parts of Switzerland. Either spend more time there (aim for the Interlaken area, particularly the famous Grimsel-Furka-Susten triangle) or go around via France and the Grand Route down to Monaco so you can avoid buying the expensive Swiss highway vignette. Theoretically you can stick to non-highway roads in Switzerland and go without a vignette; I know people who have done that out of principle.

3) From Milan, I would go down to the coast east of Genoa - walk the Cinque Terre, etc. Florence is worthwhile if you are an architecture and art fan, but as a motorcyclist you'll want to see the Tuscan countryside and back roads more than the highways. If you're around Bologna, go to Modena and the Ferrari museums.

4) Same with central Italy... there are much better things to do around Rome than ride the highways. Go to the small towns, the green blotches on the map.

5) Once you are done with Naples and the Amalfi coast, I would take a ferry to Sicily (overnight) rather than ride all the way down. Spend more time on Sicily; Catania and Syracuse and Mount Etna are all good, but it's a great motorcycling destination on its own.

6) There is absolutely no good reason to take your bike to Malta. It is a tiny overcrowded island with terrible traffic. Also, your route on Malta is pretty pointless too - let me know if you want more detailed recommendations.

7) On your way back up, instead of doing a boring ride all the way through Italy, I would take a ferry from Palermo to Sardinia-Corsica-Genoa.

8) More time for the Italian Dolomites north of Milan.

9) If you are going up via Austria, don't just pass through Innsbruck - go via the Grossglockner. Again, more back roads, fewer highways! Also I would go via Czechia rather than more boring Autobahns.

Actually... the more I look at it, the more I feel like your route is very badly thought through.
