VIDEO: Morocco & Western Sahara 2015

Just thought I'd share a video of my latest motorcycle trip to Morocco and Western Sahara.

In September / October 2015 I rode a clockwise route around Morocco (riding solo).

I started at Tangier Med, went east to Oujda then travelled down to Figuig, Merzouga, Zagora, Tata, Guelmim, Tan Tan, Laayoune and then back up through Tafraoute, Askaoun, Ouarzazate, Imilchil, Azrou, Meknes, Chefchaouen then back across to Spain. Around 5000 miles in total (including distance travelled through Spain).

The first video is a selection of various video clips and photos taken during the trip. The second video is of route MH7 From Askaoun to Tazenacht.

Enjoy,

Luke

Askaoun to Anezal

I just tried this route on a 215 kg Gran Canyon, had to turn round at the rocky section up through gorge with the stream, the rocks were huge and everywhere.
I need to lose 20 years or the bike needs to lose 100kg:-))

Yes, that part was difficult. I don't know how I managed to avoid dropping the bike that day. My bike weighs around 200 kg wet which isn't ideal for this sort of riding.

I could've done with some more ground clearance as I bashed the sump guard (which can be heard in the video at around 1 minute in). Fortunately the sump guard did it's job and prevented any damage. I considered turning around when I got to the washouts, but just about managed it. Not the most sensible decision perhaps, but I'm glad I persisted.

I've now updated my first post with the new video :)

Likewise, we're sailing on the Plymouth/Santander ferry on April 3rd. I've got my GoPro ready and a good friend has given me a fancy iMac to edit the footage into a little film when I get back :-)
