Way to go;
Hi, enjoyed the read and superb piccies.
Myself and five buddies are of in late June (a first for me) eccept we're goin north first, Germany that is and then mostly Eastern Europe, around 3 to 4 weeks openended. If we have half as much fun as you Guys, it should be a good laugh. and if you reckoned you did about a grand, that was money well spent.:thumbup1: A lot of miles though 4000+ you must have been walking around like John Wayne for a few days. Good luck on your next adventure P.Nuts |
A really enjoyable read, thanks. :thumbup1:
You did good on that budget. A France, Andorra and Spain tour end of last year cost over me over a grand in just under 3,700 miles doing it 'on the cheap' (I think those days are gone for a while in Spain and Portugal, sad to say). I was wondering which direction to go in July after I get to the Czech Republic (heading via Germany and Austria to take some nice nostalgic photo's for dad of places he was at, at the end of the war, places he still raves about), and I think you just talked me into heading that way (maybe via Poland and Hungary first). Possibly the most vital question: Any notable beers to avoid? I wouldn't like a repeat of the Peroni experience I once had in Italy, hehe. :eek3: |
Fantastic write up, you have inspired me to do more touring, in fact I am thinking about giving work up and riding to Thailand to do some serious diving!!
Look forward to meeting you at the Hog Raost Cheers Andy |

Top trip Whatton - I like the sense of humour in the text! :funmeteryes:And the sideswipe above about poncho wearing ditch dossers etc:thumbup1:, though as a costcutting exercise it's hard to beat.:blushing:Try backpackers hotels next time if you don't mind slumming it - Sinbad's in Sultanamet is central, with a nice rooftop looking over the Bosphoros. For me, a grand for this trip would be a lorra, lorra dosh. I did a trip to Turkey, and enjoyed your account of some places I knew. Thanks for the info about Serbia wanting 90 euros for insurance - they're now off my list of Favoured Nations, and onto the Axis of Evil list. When next going to Turkey, I'll find another route, tho' I had wanted to see Serbia, as I didnt pass through last time. About the lack of comment on a good trip and report, there's an increasing trend here for people to read posts and say nuffink. |
Top read, looked like a great time was had by all :thumbup1:

Thanks for your photos!! Excellent trip. :thumbup1:
What was the cost overall? |

Nice one
Thanks for that Whatton, cracking write up and photos. I have a trip planned to start next April around Europe, I'm going anti clockwise, hoping to get through 40 countries in 3 months. It was good to see and hear about some of the places that I know nothing about. Keep up the good work.:thumbup1:

Thanks for the write up and great pics. :clap:
Nice to see you bumped in to Henry and Kirsten. My turn next year :mchappy: Ian |
Nice write up, we did the same trip almost but in the opposite direction with more time in Italy and France, well recommended!
