Got on the road and hit I10 west, blasted through the wind and heavy gust to get to the scene of a couple of semi trucks on their sides.
Wind gusts are scary on a bike, but the carnage of the trucks was insane

Super job

Great photos, thanks for taking the time to share.
If the bulb and grips went out at the same time there might be a short somewhere.
How are you liking the Tusk panniers? Looks like you went down with them, how did they hold up?
Keep sending the pics, still too icky and icy to ride here. :freezing:

Hey Mac,
yeah man, i was thinking those were put on by the previous owner, so who knows, electricals and shorts are no fun to troubleshoot, but i fixed the lights for now, and its hot again in texas/louisinna/florida where im going next , so no need for the grips yet.

I'm debating the panniers decision, always had Wolfman setups before, and they were light but couldn't lock anything.

the rack is heavy as S---, the panniers are light, but like you said you can overpack real fast

I now have to work on the shock because the bike sags so much with the weight, the locking feature is good, and being able to walk away with the panniers and things safe is good.

I didn't drop them yet, so i don't know how they would hold up

one lock fell out while riding....sooo i don't know man, for $300 dealer cost, its still a good bargain
beer more money for beer

not much gear, not sagging too much
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e9f5a468a2.jpg

Here is an example of the bike loaded up and sagging with all the gear

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b6c4ceecc0.jpg

I've been looking at shocks options= too much money i dont have, different springs, and even a raising link wich for $30 i got first , to see if it'll help, knowing that this is the worst way to go and not the proper way. Money goes a long way when you dont have any lmao

Stopped at Harris ranch and restaurant to see what a good steak would be like.
well, never mind, a good steak is super expensive, back to jetboil and camping meals for me.
the stop was worth it though as the place is amazing to walk through and look at fancy stuff.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...09439961a0.jpg

I even met this guy who stopped to talk to me and checked out the KLR, this is Rich Voss, from Voss motorsports a desert racer, Baja type, really nice guy, who even gave me his hat right off his head.

Lots of cool places along the boring i5 to eat and walk around, breaks down the monotony of the super slab

The super slab is always boring, riding among the trucks, 2 lanes highway and the speeders sucks, but then this suCKed even more, heavy bike, and load, Psi dropping, tire getting hot, hotter and hotter and burning hot.
Pulled over to see half of the center knobbies dissapear and breaking off.

hmmmm, now what

So tire is ****ed, I think, and im still needing to make it to SF by the evening to attend the dirtbag challenge,a biker build-off contest my friend Poll throws every year for the past 10+
build a bike with $1000-$2000 in 30 days, ride it, bring it back to the party and mayhem follows, with punk bands playing, always fun

the slab was slow, 55mph thinking that tire is going to explode, but I make it, and make it to dirtbag challenge even before everyone else
