Nordkapp to Cape Town
 

I am on current trip from Nordkapp, Norway to Cape Town, South Africa. I am traveling on a R1200GS. The purpose of my post is to thank all the other members who posted in the past as well as the future to help members with their travels! I am also including some added information along the way to add to the body of knowledge in these travels.

Hint#1: Weather at Nordkapp
 

I know this goes without saying, but it can be cold! The weather forecast was for 7C. Well...this did not happen quite this way. By the time it was all over and I rode from Nordkapp back south into Finland, it rained straight, got progressively colder, went below freezing (-0.5) and then started to snow. Pack appropriately and know that even the best gear is not going to perform as the manufacturers think in the very wet and very cold. Lucky for saunas throughout this part of the world!
