Is that the one and only Ado "shaggy" Dunne from the class of '97 - '98 in Baldoyle?
The same Ado that I got thrown out with from the pub where we were having our xmas drinking session in 97? The same Ado that challenged me and J Gleeson to a wrestling match outside the racecourse because we said your bird had a massive forhead? Long time no see, I was just talking to Dave Fitz (FAS) about you a couple of weeks ago. That beard suits you, I allways knew the lipstick and makeup was just a phase you were going through! P.S. wicked video lads, looks like ye had some craic. |

I'll pass the message on to the man himself. yeah he wouldn't wear the lipstick/makeup for the camera. For some reason he thinks it makes him look like a sissy?! Thanks for the comments lads. Glad you enjoyed it. There's another two episodes coming up. |

Brilliant..!
Brilliant video! Truly loved it, it's certainly changed my European route to include Italy and possibly Montenegro etc. I wish I had your choice of music for my iPod whilst visiting these beautiful places.
Your video should be an inspiration to those whom haven't gone on a road trip yet, there's more ups than downs and you guys showed them all! I'm also sure that your new baby will love seeing the vid of Dad (in his younger days) in the years to come!! Well done. and thank you for sharing your trip..! |

Had a good laugh, it had ups and downs and the small features on the sightseeing was sweet too! Your route has inspired me in regards to next years trip. Montenegro mostly. Do you have any info on the ferry you took? Sights too see, things you wished you saw but didn't? Things to leave out? |

(I also believe sarajevo is a great spot and I would have liked to have made it there.) I would have also liked more time in Lake Garda in northern Italy. That was lovely. After driving down Italy I took a ferry from Bari (italy) to Bar (montenegro). This crossing took about 7-8 hours I think. I remember it being slightly expensive. Maybe €100 for me and the bike. My advice is to relax and enjoy the places you visit and the people you're with. Try not to take on too much. Due to unforseen circumstances (nothing will ever go to plan) we rarely had the time enjoy where we were but instead had to keep always moving. What you won't see on the video is all the craic we had on the bikes over the autocoms. If you are traveling on a bike make sure you can always talk to your friends, if we did the same trip but without being able to have talk on the bikes we would have never been in good spirits about the driving. Lastly DO NOT, EVER, EVER travel on a motorbike with eggs for your breakfast in the same pannier as your clothes. |
I'd also like to point out that despite what it says on the videos apperantly I really DO NOT snore !

Good advice.
When travelling the alps this summer we were also always on the move. I think it is hard to slow down when you don't want to miss anything. |

3 great videos....well worth watching. Just out of curiosity though, as a rough ballpark figure how much do you reckon the whole trip cost you each (apart from the bike repairs)!!! Chris |
Hey Chris.
I'd say we did about 7 - 7.5 thousand kilometres. Which would be about €750 in fuel each. We camped some nights and when not camping we got fairly cheap hotels or private rooms in hostels. I'd say we lived on about 60 euro a day (not including fuel) which is about €2000 for 5 weeks. With another few hundred (300?) for ferries and some money for the autocoms so we could talk to each other. I'd say we did it for about €3300-€3500 each not including ados bike repairs. Mick |
