I know guys that have been riding all over europe and they do it for a few weeks every year for the last decade and they still wouldnt go to eastern europe. Some folk consider even that an adventure.
If you keep pushing the bar on what is deamed as adventure or what is dangerous and judging everyone else by the standards of some of the very well travelled people here then god help those like lois pryce and her hubby.
I can just see them now announcing their next ride, "well because guys like siberskyextreme and others have been pushing the limits, we are going one step further, we will now ride around the middle east offroad on honda goldwings with no support and only wearing matching thongs"
Ive now seen a few ride reports put up that have been slated for not being a tale of mass carnage and chaos in both the 4x4 and bike section and grant wonders why people dont post reports as much as other forums.

Or not...

Nicely said, thanks.

People that slate others trips for whatever reason are being elitist snobs - and are not who we started this website for. Our number one ethos is TOLERANCE for all - so how about trying a little on guys? YOU may be all rufty-tufty NOW - but when you were a beginner you were just as much a beginner as anyone else - you had a lot to learn, and you weren't particularly tough! And I'm sure your mother has a picture of you in the bathtub when you were two... not tough.

Everyone has a different level of adventure, and what matters is that you ARE having an ADVENTURE! Whether it's to the next country or around the world on a shoestring with baling wire holding your 1933 Yamazuwakibmw together - it's an adventure - for YOU. And that's all that matters.

Remember - tolerance! And what was that my mother taught me?

"If you can't say something nice, don't say anything."

Nasty, over the top, unreasonable, intolerant etc comments please report to me! Just click the icon "Report post" - the triangle - on every post.

So let's try to ENCOURAGE newbies to get out there, not slap them down.

/rant, but not forgotten. :censored::censored:

Yeah !! We probably just don't get it. It's not like most of us here havn't done long and dangerous trips into the great unknown... :innocent:

Although, you've got a point ! I've just come back from 4 days in Wales and the horse poo there was exceptionally dangerous. In some towns, they didn't even have ATM's and in one village, they didn't even have a waitrose !! I don't know how we made it out alive ! Thank god we had GPS and our armoured escort..

Anyway, the book is on the way !!

"DODGING DEATH IN SNOWDONIA & THE BLACK MOUNTAINS"

Ed you troll! :thumbdown: Our death defying adventure was meant to be hush hush until we agree on the correct theme... Is it still meant to be Brokeback Mountain vs Armageddon? or are we dropping the bromance out? :mchappy: :smartass:

I give full credit to anyone who puts in the work to write a story of their trip and put their lovingly crafted words up for inspection by all.

We are always very grateful when someone posts their story here, and we'd love to have more, so please help encourage them! :mchappy:
