Christmas Day on the Norton 650SS daily rider
 

Hi everyone hope we are all well :)

Wow so 2022 has been quite the year for me bike wise started out with riding my 1927 Norton 16H flat tanker as it was easy to kickstart while recovering from a shoulder injury, which led me to mainly using my vstrom 650xt for a while which then gave way to two ktm 390 adventures one for myself and one for dad unfortunately at 147 and 269 miles both bikes ended up rejected with a litany off issues luckily the dealer did the right thing and took them back so kudos to them, which then lead me to spending my cash on a 2018 R1200GS Rallye TE mainly for road touring as our planned Iceland trip has been nocked back to the issues with the Ktms.

An interesting thing happened though my shoulder / neck got better after having a complete break for a bit an let me start riding my Norton 650SS again which prior to the none bike related shoulder injury was my daily rider.

I initially thought the GS would be a great way to keep the miles down on the Norton but I guess some bikes get under our skin in ways that are hard to put into words and I started using the 650ss daily again, Xmas day came around and in my mind one bike stood out to ride you guessed it the 650SS :) so on one of my all time favourite bikes, I've worked my way through a few in 12 years of riding.

My Norton 650SS is doing her 4th winter and I kept with my tradition of going out on a motorcycle on Xmas day. This time up to the Cat and Fiddle I hit some unexpected fog on the way to the top and went out in my lighter gear as it seemed warmer isn't it funny how these rides are the ones you always remember you love enjoy the most the ones that speak to you.

Happy Holidays everyone. Whether the GS is still here next year remains to be seen one things for sure the Nortons still will be although they might be joined by an Enfield.
