The Blue Ridge Parkway And Skyline Drive
 

In June 2015 I rode a rented Suzuki V-Strom DL650 for three days on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive and wrote a book about my experience. Here are some of the pictures I clicked along the way.

Hi Deelip. I obviously didn't see the best of Skyline drive when we did a couple of hours along the start of it many years ago. That and BRP have been on my shall I / shan't I list ever since then and I'm now wondering whether I should have made an effort to include it in this years route, but the coast is getting priority instead.

People normally do the Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway and finally end at the Tail of the Dragon. Or vice versa. I did a little of the Blue Ridge Parkway a year ago and promised myself to come back and do the rest of it some day. I strongly recommend you do this. Of all the motorcycle roads I've been on the Blue Ridge Parkway is my favorite.

Stunning scenery brings back great memories. Great drive even in a car. Black bears and lots of deer.

Riding the Blueridge
 

Have ridden the the BlueRidge a couple of times from Head to Tail. (Dragon). Would do it again in a heartbeat. Only down size is the speed limit. (45 mph). Loved the scenery and the ambience.

Agree. The speed limit on the Skyline Drive is even lesser - 35 mph. And people actually follow it. :-)

I made this town my base for the ride, spending two nights there.

I walked it, the original Appalachian Trail was the route. The new trail is alongside.
