answering the question no one asked. CG off road?

the perverse part of me likes the idea of using 'the wrong' bike for stuff
i took the little honda cg 125 over the old coach road in the lake district. i know it doesnt look much, but i diddnt think the cg could cope with much, especially with bald road tires.

but there it is, the thing has plenty of ground clearance, and only weighs 115kg so it really wasn't too much for the little beast.
clearly the road wasnt too bad, mostly gravel track with big holes in it, but there are some steep and bouldery bits
give me a break. i'm proud of the little bugger

They certainly are plucky little bikes, here is a Chinese knock-off at the top of a 5,300 metre pass in Tibet which if that isn't amazing enough it was two up.

A few hours after I took the picture above I lent my bike to a Berber guy and he wrecked it. He broke his collarbone. I picked up the bike, put him on the back and rode him two hours to the nearest hospital. The handlebars, footpegs, turn signals and wheels will take a tremendous beating.

Suspension could be longer but you will always get there.

The air filter is well designed, and she doesn't suck up water even on long, deep water crossings.

The bike is not difficult to lift over 2' obstacles or into canoes, should the need arise, as it often does.

It was a Honda designed for the developing world. It has no weaknesses.

these replies are awesome, just the sort of pictures that made me decide that downsizing wasnt such a bad thing.

maybe dragon/elephent rally or something.
i welcome more pictures or hints on the mighty cg. :stuart:
