work done and price?
Hello, I am just curious what work you had done and what the total cost was. My girlfriend and I will be arriving in Columbia in a few weeks with our 2 KLR650's. We have been doing all of our own maintenance, but would like to have a shop look the bikes over and possible do a little maintenance before we continue south. Thanks for providing this shop suggestion. -Zach

Hi Zach,
I wrote a post in the kawasaki section on this at: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...e-2012-a-66862 its pretty in depth at what they did and how much it was. the bike mechanic was named Rodrigo - so I can recommend him, however I'm not sure if he's still working there - I'm not sure of the capabilities of the other guys - so you may want to chat to them before you get anything done. there is also a large honda dealer in town who does work on larger bikes too, i also believe there is at least a couple more Kawi dealers. this city has more motorbikes than anywhere in colombia, however the mechanics cater for mostly smaller cc chinese bikes - the the mechanics who are capable of working on larger bikes are few and far between. Im sure there is a few more, just get googling I'll be in Bucaramanga again after the 9th of May for a bit if you need any more guidance, or just send me a private message cheers dom |
I am in Costa Rica and expect to be in Colombia in a few weeks. I'm riding a Suzuki 650 DL and need a few items: skid plate for under engine, radiator guard plate and heated grips/guards. These are available from Touratech, I think. Does anyone know if these parts are likely to be on-hand in Medellin, Colombia? If not, is it a good idea to have Touratech or some other supplier ship them to a dealer or repair shop in Medellin? If so, any suggestions on specific places/addresses?
