New moderator to this Forum

Good Morning to you all,

I've been lurking around in the background for sometime and, when Grant asked me (at the NEC Bike show on Press day) if I'd take on the role of the Photo Forum Moderator, I jumped at the chance. Afterall, it's about time that I put something back into the site, rather than just taking it!

So please be gentle with me, whilst I get my feet under the table and I'll do my utmost to answer as many appropriate questions as I can.

My background has involved photography for around thirty years and I specialise in the following subjects;

classic aviation (mainly flying boats and warbirds),
motorcycle race events and shows,
travel (mainly on two wheels),
model portfolio's.

Kind regards

Reggie (AKA The Cameraman)

Oh good, an expert and as it happens I'm having a few problems with my snap taking with my Kodak Brownie so I wonder if you can help ...............
Welcome to your new role Mr. Cameraman and thank you for taking it on.

Hi Ted,

it's not the equipment, it's what you do with it that counts!

Thanks for the laugh.

Hi Chaps & Chapesses,

OK here's a few examples of some work, all of it clean!

Let's start off with a local sunset over Anglezark.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...readsunset.jpg

And whilst we're looking at the sun how about a dawn shot of a couple of B52's at Fairford during the Gulf conflict. I like the loan sentry posting guard.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...MG1small-1.jpg

Whilst looking at military aircraft, here we have a Royal Navy Wasp.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...002small-1.jpg

Followed by an Army Chinook.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...230small-1.jpg

Next we have a view of a lighthouse from a Grumman flying boat.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...061small-1.jpg

Here's one of my mate Dazzer on his R1150GSA.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4.../Dazcrop11.jpg

And one of my bike, hand holding a Canon Digital SLR. Look closely at the speedo!

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...altic01601.jpg

One of Dazzer & Mikey riding across a bit of a bridge.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...norway3461.jpg

A lovely little waterfall in Norway.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...y3811small.jpg

A couple of classics, first a works 250cc, 4 cylinder, 2 stroke at the TT, followed by one of John Surtees.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...531small-1.jpg

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...801small-1.jpg

And a little boat that Suzuki let us play with.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...02421small.jpg

As I live in Lancashire it would be rude not to include a shot from Blackpool and Salford!

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...451small-3.jpg

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...63541small.jpg

Not forgetting my trusty Serow on the old cattle drovers road on Rooley Moor, Rochdale

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...571small-1.jpg

Now just a few of our girls for you, in the best possible taste.

We start off with Roxy really transforming the image of a BMW cruiser!

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4..._9314small.jpg

Then Brooke, with her ample charms.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...X0069small.jpg

Now my favourite Vanessa Upton taking advantage of an inocent model.

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e4...541small-1.jpg

And last of the girls, how to make a string vest look good!

Hey welcome cameraman :-)

Very cool shots - it appears we have very similar taste when it comes to locations and women...!

Let's start with Salford....

Moving on to women...

I'm just sorry I couldn't also add any military images - must be great fun shooting that kind of stuff!

The Cameraman 27 Dec 2007 21:35

Hi Matt,

well you can't really go wrong with Brooke now can you!

Yeah the mil stuff's good fun but the girlies are better!

The only reason I was in Salford was to shoot the launch of a new Landrover product, alongside the Lowry building, but the light was so flattering to the bridge that I couldn't resist grabbing a shot.

That's the beauty of photography, there's so many facets that whatever your interest you can record it with a camera.

I know exactly what you mean - and that area of Salford (my new home next year) is wonderful for photography... that water is so calm and reflects the light fantastically.

Loved the Lowry but was rather excited by the Imperial War Museum and it's viewing tower - only to discover that you can't actually see anything out of it after going up - and totally useless to take any good shots.

Oh well... back to Brooke!

Some nice pics there Cameraman:thumbup1: I was taken by the one of Rooley Moor, being a Rochdalian exiled in Scotland:helpsmilie: That road goes over to Bacup (Stacksteads) and drops you near to Alf Kymes scrap yard! Rode it a few times years ago:mchappy: Also on the Rochdale side is the village (revived) of Prickshaw, lovely little hamlet. I was down in the Dale on Boxing day visiting relatives, I don't miss it that much!!!!!!!!

I see you use the Canon EOS 20D? I have just got a Pentax K100D Super for my first foray into DSLR, it's going to be a steep learning curve:eek3:
