Mini DV VS Digital camcorder

:confused1: I own a sony PC1000 and a HD go pro but I am also looking for some digital camcorder , am I going to loose quality ? if I do not spend $$$ for a digital camcorder or should it be similar to my mini DV camcorder . the only real reason why I may consider changing my camcorder is that in order to work on my video during my trips I have to convert the mini DV to digital format and this take some time.

Hendi-
Here in the States you can buy Sony CX series camcorders pretty inexpensively and the quality is great! At our dropzon we switched to them from DV tape machines (also PC1000's)for size, weight, and ease of download. The low light capability is at least as good as the PC1000. A huge advantage is that each time you shoot it saves that video as a separate file. This really makes finding things much easier. You won't regret the switch!

I watched Moto enduro and it was fun but long time ago , tech changes and I like to follow the new trens as them have better qualities and ease of use. I started with a sony camcorder and a 20/20 helmet cam but now go pro is the way to go for off road , I think DZguy is right and full digital maybe the wayto go (I guess if someone is looking for a PC1000 sony it will be for sale soon )

Fair enough, well I used to have a dv camera, found it to be a bit of a pain in the ass. They use more batteries, require a firewire port on your computer (fine if you have a Mac), it's very processor heavy on your computer and it takes a long time to cycle through footage. Digital just makes everything so much easier.
