Microphone question for DV cam
Anyone got any suggestions as of how I can prevent recording wind noice on my DV cam corder? I plan to use a helmet cam in conjunction with the DV cam corder while riding, and I would like to be able to record the ambience of traffic and the engine without capturing the wind noise. Any quick and inexpensive fixes? Other suggestions?
I might set up my helmet with a microphone and speakers so that they will work with my mobile, my gps, my mp3 player, and maybe even a bike to bike radio (I'm a bit of a gadget freak). Would it be possible to set up this helmet mic to work with the DV cam corder? Much of the engine noise and traffic ambience would be lost by this option as the mic is built to block that stuff out, but I would be able to narrate while riding which would be a bonus. Any ideas or comments are welcome... |
Hi Wheelie
If you have an external mike then the answer is to surround it or embed it within some low density foam plastic. Needs only to be a cm thick and that should do the trick. Q |
