Magnetic Tank Bag with electronic equipment?

Hi all, not sure if this is the right forum but here goes..

I have a magnetic tank bag where the magnets fold up under the bag so it can be carried as a shoulder bag or back pack, it has 4 large magnets.

My plan is to carry all my electronic equipment in it; DSLR, Garmin GPS (when not being used), iPhone, GoPro, SD cards, chargers, spare batteries etc.

I have seen some older threads relating to this which indicate it should be ok.

Has anyone got any knowledge or experience with this?

I understand that credit cards/ ATM cards should be kept away from the magnets.

Thanks,

Tom.

How does it go - "when ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise". Until I read the topic heading on your post it had never entered my head that there might be a problem and I've been happily chucking everything and anything into my magnetic tank bags - credit / debit cards, iPhone, camera storage cards, anything that'll fit really. To date I've not had a single issue - with the magnetic side of things anyway. Plenty of problems with the bags but that's a different world.

Maybe I've been lucky and others will report wiped passport chips and bank cards catching fire or something from the magnetic flux but my experience has been benign. I'll probably think about it in the future though.

I've never thought of this before either....

I've used plenty of magnetic bags and thrown electronics, wallet in there etc. Never had a problem.

I think most modern electronics are pretty well magnetically shielded or at least immune.

Those magnets aren't really that strong anyway.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Its pretty much what I thought, I just wanted to check to make sure there were not horror stories out there.
