Are cheap 3CCD digital video cameras worth it?

If you want to try to sell tapes/DVDs of your trips (like I do) or get it on TV - then yes. Better colour is what they are about but cant do nightvision gimmick)

i am using a sony pc120 1 ccd with 1.55 mega pix i am getting amazing footage and if in the right hands you can do fine with this and sell dvd also 3ccd cams are alot bigger if your traveling for a long time you dont need this trouble go compact and edit when you get home

Just found out that Panasonic are doing a 3CCD - NV-GS70B for £698.

But I'd stick wioth Canon or Sony if you have a few films in you
