Go Pro remote attachment ?
Anyone have any thoughts on how to secure the remote on handlebars, cause gopro has no accessories to attach it ?
|
Does it have to be on the handlebars?
What about some good Velcro and stick it to the top of the tank, on the dashboard or on the inside of the screen? Maybe try putting it in the map case on the tank bag if you use one Wayne Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk while having a cold beer |
Thanks Lonerider. That's maybe more practical, was hoping to use my thumb to control it , but in reality would not work , but like your idea. Don't have the bike yet ! Plus I have a garmin i have to figure out where to situate. Too much crap, you feel you HAVE to have.

Yes, you use a RAM mount, see Garmin RAM Mounts UK
But my experience is that mounting it on the bike is shaky. Better to mount on the side or top of a helmet. |
Attach your GoPro Smart Remote or Wi-Fi Remote to your wrist, clothing, neck and more..... bits from the GoPro kit work for me on different bikes / bicycles.

Thanks guys, Tim the actual Go Pro is on my helmet, but the remote is the issue where to put it so it is easily accessible to press to take a picture. Thanks TBR will look at those options.

I attach my GoPro remote to my right wrist. Generally easy to turn off and on without removing hand from the throttle and without eyes on the remote. Also easy to know whether device is recording with a quick glance because of red flashing on the remote. Sometimes I find myself unable to switch device off and on because I feel uncomfortable removing my left hand from the handlebar or diverting my eyes even for a moment (riding next to a cliff!).

Sorry, misunderstood. I've never used the remote, just relied on the beep codes to work out what the unit is doing.
Must have a look at what the remote could do for me. |
Tim you will really find it helpful I am sure.
Maybe around my wrist , then at least it is one less thing to get stolen when I am crossing the border and forget it on the bike. Only hassle would be it dangling there, doesn't it get in the way ?? |
I just got some thin velcro strips at the supermarket - the remote has slots on the back of it, kind of like for a lanyard. So I put the strips through those slots, and velcroed it around the handlebars at the base of the left grab handle. Worked very well, the only limitation was the GoPro itself has crap battery life with the WiFi enabled for the remote.
