Go Pro Hero Display
I wonder if anyone has offers of what to use with the Hero digital helmet camera. It stores on a 2GB SD card but has no display. I think an Archos would be good but is there something more suitable for viewing stills and movie while on the road? This assumes I'm not carrying a laptop of course and want to view when away from cyber cafes. Linzi.

I'm not a computer guy but could you not take your 2GB card and put it into your camera and see results on the camera screen? For a longer trip It seems to me you'd need a lot of cards. I think my 2GB card gives about a half hour of movies, more of less. This at the high quality rate, which is the only one that looks OK, at least on my Lumix TZ-5.
I'm sure there are a hundred ways to do this .... ??:confused1: Patrick :scooter: |
No No No
Thanks but the Hero is very small and has no display screen at all. The tiny screen on it is only to display the mode being used ie single, multiple, every 5 seconds or video. There's a lead to go to a computer or TV. I've got 25 SD cards already-eggs spread in many baskets! Linzi.

Linzi,
I am a devoted fan of my XDA orbit - O2 - Xda - Device - Orbit Can be had off ebay now for £100 to £150 or so. The Orbit 2 is slightly better in that it has an external microSD slot (the older Orbit you have to take the battery out which is a pain). You'd need a microSD -> SD adaptor to use in your camera (cheap tho you'd need to buy microSD cards instead of the SD cards you already have). Then use the camera, take the card out of the adaptor and pop it into the phone. I've played a few things on mine and it seems ok. Plus depending on your mobile tariff you can send the files over a mobile connection or wifi (at a hotspot) to a website etc directly. It also has GPS and is of course a mobile too! N |
Thanks
Thanks for that Neil. I bought my SD cards from Hong Kong via e-bay and could easily sell them for a profit! Incidentally the Hero is a super little camera. I shall try using a carpenter's laser torch strapped onto it to sight it as there is no way of knowing where it's really aimed at till you view the images! It's a very basic unit. Glad I bought it a few months ago as the weak pound means it's now up in price. Linzi.
