FX VS DX (Nikon)

I am considering upgrading my gear before our next trip , I currently use a Nikon D2X , also a D200 and was looking at going FX which will require changing all my lenses . Any good photographer made the change and will be able to say if its really worth the thousands of dollars.
Thanks

I've had /got both of those and also use a D800 for work. Yes there's a resolution difference but you have to do something fairly extreme with the images for the resolution to be a major issue.

The biggest improvement is in low light capability. The fx sensors are so much better - 3 to 4 stops more sensitive - that it opens up a whole area of photography that wasn't possible before. Whether that's worth the cost of the camera, lenses and possibly having to upgrade your computer to cope with the larger files is a tricky decision. It is if you're working / earning with them but for travel use it wouldn't be for me.
