Defender 110 CSW 1998 for sale UK

Our Foley's expedition prepared vehicle is coming up for sale shortly - approx 6 weeks. Brilliant if your considering traveling with children (comfortable 5-seater) as we have been this past year. Equally suitable for those without kids but need the space. No roof tent and no special racking at back but has everything otherwise anyone considering a trip would need. Full details are available on our website re: modifications and what we paid. See [url=http://www.overlandwithkids.com/2009/12/land-rover-vehicle-preparation/]Overland With Kids |

Here are two of exterior to give an idea. Let me know if you need something more specific at this stage (though probably best to see vehicle when it lands in UK). There are quite a few photos under vehicle prep of our website meantime which provide more detailed views.

Caravan

The caravan was an interesting experience. Design-wise it was perfect for our needs with two children (especially Europe). Problem was that what we bought was very old - had been sitting in the rain in Scotland, then Bristol before we came along and purchased. Then it sat in the rain in our driveway for a period. We didn't know that this 'old' model was ply-based - built for SA rather than UK weather. The ply had eventually rotted (unbeknown to us) causing it's eventual collapse. The non-existent roads we travelled afterwards made us think (what on earth made us think of bringing a caravan?). A couple of things to note - we are not sure what the design of the new model is but apart from material make-up, towing weight was 1.8T gross. We would NOT recommend towing ANYTHING for an overland trip. Something you can sleep on or preferably INside is much, much better. Versatility is everything to get you where you need to go. Much cheaper too as effectively something like an off-road caravan or even just a trailer is not cost effective for shipping etc - like bringing two vehicles. Fuel efficiency and stress on lead vehicle, parking, reversing, being able to just climb in and take off into those off-beat places, up those steep windy hills and mountains and so much more (freedom to roam is everything). If you need more info, just holler! (PS - we still loved that caravan & the kids adored but a 'no-no' for significant non-flat surface, sealed road overland trips. We were warned not to bring before our trip - but would we listen - no! If we had our time again, would recommend roof tent x 2 with children involved).
