Yamaha Fazer 600 (2001)

I'm just back from a tour trough Eastern Europe (Czech, Slovakia, Hungary and Roemenia), solo with my Fazer 600. Friends of mine and other motor driving collegues advised me to wait a few years till i have a bigger motorcycle, genre Triumph Tiber, Honda Varadero,... anything that is bigger than 600 cc. Rubbish and bull shit, i would say. During the whole trip, this motorcycle was a dream to ride on. After adjusting the suspension a little bit on the back and the front, it drove like there was no luggage on it! (i had 2 saddle bags, a sports bag containing my tent & sleeping bag and of course a tank bag). Overal consumption was 4.3 l/100 km which gave me an autonomy of more than 400 km (20 l tank), i did not remark any oil consumation. Off course, travelling 2-up with a Fazer 600 wouldn't be that handy http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif Next year i'm going again, longer and further, but i won't look for a new bike. I read a story about a man travelling the world on a Fireblade (Fireblade sjaak off course), and if he can do that, i will be able too - and the bike is too much fun when carrying no luggage. Greets to you all, have a great trip!

Glad to hear the bike and you had a good time. A number of us from the UK take our Fazer's into Europe. France, Spain, Germany and Italy mainly. I'm considering going further in the next few years, still considering where. As long as the road is a road the bike will be OK!
