Vladivostok to where ?? - Shipping out.

Hey all...

Once getting to Vladivostok are there any cheap, easy shipping routes ??

I was considering shipping into Los Angeles and heading south and back to South America.

I hear there is a ship to Japan also ??

Options to Indonesia ??

Maybe into Darwin ??

As you can tell, I'm trying to work out somewhere to go after I arrive in Vladivostok is I don't want to go home (which I doubt I will) and have the funds to continue.

Many thanks in advance

Ted

Everything in Russia, except fuel, in NOT cheap (nor value for money). FWIW a 20 ft container from Vladivostok to Rotterdam is usd4.5k seafreight, excluding costs at Rotterdam, using Yuri. You'll need to find people to share a container.

IMHO, shipping is for fools (like me:(). I suggest you ride to Vladivostok, put bike on train to Moscow and ride back to Europe from there. Then sell/park bike.

Then fly to N or S America, buy a bike, ride S or N and resell. Saves a lot of $$$ on shipping.

Yeah... This is probably what I'll end up doing. I was just wondering if there were any alternatives..

How much is that train to Moscow again ?

Speak to Yuri about Container share.

We got our Land Rover, Trailer and 6 bikes into a 40ft that is heading for Melbourne. If your not fussed about where you are going you should be able to find something. Our container was the only one going to Aus this year. He can also possibly store the bike and ship later on when things become available. He is pretty flex and offers a great service. If you can fill a container, you are laughing :)

That is for passengers. Freight is a completely different story.
And from what I hear, you really don't wanna ride the train all the way from Vlad to Moscow. Boring as hell. I rode in a freight car for 2 days back in "the day" before the highway wasn't complete. Fun for a day. After that, you better hope the books you brought are really good.

I just got a message from the train people saying that they don't take motorcycles. They don't do freight. So maybe there is a different rail service that is a freight service. The email points to this address for further information.
