Updated Tajikistan Visa Policy
 

There have been rumors regarding Tajikistan adopting visa free travel to more countries (European Union ect ect )like Kyrgyzstan & Kazakhstan has.

The other day (In Kyrgyzstan) i met a Brazilian guy who obtained a visa on arrival in Dushanbe airport so now it appears Visa on arrives will be issued only when arriving by plane at Dushanbe airport.

But you will still need to get the OIVR permit if you plan to visit Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (Pamir) in Dushanbe before you head to the Pamir

Still no change for overland border crossing so visa's will be required before hand like usual, just recently in Bishkek a Tajikistan visa along with the Pamir permit have been applied for at 9am and collected the same day at 2pm so its a quick service.

Also Tajikistan plans to completely abolish visas for nationals of countries currently eligible for visa on arrival ( European Union ect ect) by 2016
