Just over 5 months to go. Things are looking good. Bike received a full service this weekend incl valve check. Flights to Irkutsk have also been booked. Russian VISA applications in a couple of months (Can only apply 3 months before apparently) then rock and roll!

A quick trial run with the soft luggage on will happen in a couple of weeks when I take it over to Bas at Hyperpro for new front and rear suspension and a 21 inch front wheel. Happy days!

I can't wait Wildman, it's going to be a blast.

Jealous, no I'm really really jealous!

I spent 2 months riding from the Uk to Mongolia via the Pamir last year and it was an outstandingly brilliant trip.

2 of us on 690's. Tajikistan and the Pamir, Kyrgystsan along with Mongolia were the the best parts of the trip.

Wakkan Corridor was great but the Bartang Valley surpassed everything. A real must do.

I'm curious if you're air freighting or road freighting bikes out and back and who you're using and the cost.

I flew my bike back from Ulaanbaatar using Landbridge in UB, I emailed 4 freight companies in UB and Landbridge were by far the most switched on.

Good luck with your trip.

I must repeat "I am not jealous"

Using ADVFactory so shipping by road out of and back to Warsaw; €1,350.

Most have stopped shipping onto or out of UB because of costs hence we're Irkutsk to Bishkek.
