Trip 1year+ Europe-Russia-Asia leaving may 2017
 

My trip for the next year and my last year of preparations

I plan to ride with a BMW 650Gs Dakar and camping most of time.

I’ll fly (me and bike) from Montreal and start the trip from Paris.

I plan to ride Europe, East Europe then Scandinav countries dont know yet
if ill go to iceland (we’ll see the $) after cross through Russia to visit Mongolia, China, India et heading to Indonesia we’ll see after what happen.

So any tips, advices, contacts, things to do and see, etc will be very appreciate.

Well - for China you better join a group or create one yourself as guides are mandatory for riding through that country and expensive! The itinerary, all accomodation etc needs to be sorted out and recognised by the chinese government before you enter the country. You will need a chinese (temporary) driving license - all this can be sorted out by the guides. The cost will be high and paperwork must be sent to the guides well in advance - 3 months or so.

So planning well in advance for that part of the trip is essential.

Visas for some countries can only be obtained from your home country - so thats something to have in mind. Russia is one of these countries as far as I remember.
